Football for the Family......
Pop Warner AlumniThe NFL Player's Association (NFLPA) estimates that between 60 and 70 percent of the current players in the NFL got their start playing Pop Warner Football.
"Pop Warner is really important because you have kids trying to determine what their values are going to be, what their priorities in life are going to be, and what their vision in life is going to be..." - Paul Tagliabue, NFL Commissioner.

Hey - I need volunteers to announce the games on Sept 13 and Oct 11. Please, contact me at this email address or call 474-5888.
Thanks
Laura
Team Moms, please distribute to all parents on your team!
TEAM PICTURE DAY WILL BE SEPT 13!!!
Bishop Photography will be shooting team and individual pictures on the following schedule:
(I realize some of these times are early, but football teams have to start at least 1 1/2 hrs prior to their games to complete the process)
Tiny Mite Teal = 7:30 am
Cheer = 8:00 am
Tiny Mite Black = 9:00 am
Jr. Pee Wee = 10:30 am
Mitey Mite Black = 12:30 am
Cheer = 1:00 pm
Mitey Mite Teal = 2:30 pm
Pee Wees = 4:30 pm
Please, arrive on time with your player or cheerleader dressed and ready. If you miss your scheduled time, it may be impossible to work you back in. Sorry, this is the only picture day; no make-ups! If you have special picture requests (i.e. sister and brother together, two brothers from different teams, coach and player, etc.) please, give them to me in writing asap so that I can forward to the photographer for scheduling.
I will be distributing order packets as soon as I receive them from the company. They will need your check for your order on Sept 13. Then the photos will be shipped directly to your home. AND THE COMPANY WILL BE GIVING A PORTION OF THE PROCEEDS BACK TO THE JAGUARS!!! So, order lots!!!
Hello!
We are still collecting donations of bottled water, Gatorade and canned sodas to sell on Sept 13 and Oct 11 for our home games at New Bern High School. Please, bring your donations to practice.
Tonight, team moms and volunteers will be circulating a sign-up sheet for concession stand volunteers for Sept 13. We don't ask that you work during your son's or daughter's game but request that you sign-up to work before or after so that we can cover all the time slots. We need everyone's help to insure that our home games go well! It's amazing how much work it takes from everyone to keep our association together - but it's worth it when you see how much fun the kids are having!

Huge thanks and appreciatiion to Tracy and Craig Simpson for rushing to Raleigh to get our T-shirts back before our first game!!! All that teal looked great on Saturday!!! If you didn't get your T-shirts on Friday night or on Saturday at the game, you should be able to pick them up tonight at practice.
Since we were distributing T-shirts on Friday immediately after they had come in, errors in printing weren't caught until then and there was so much going on this weekend, problems couldn't be addressed. But if your T-shirt order was incorrect in any way, please contact Tracy at tracy-simpson@suddenlink.net or see her on the JPW field tonight at practice so we can get your order corrected.
Again, remember to thank Tracy for all her hard work!

Hello Jaguars!
Our teams are looking terrific! We have spent over $9,000.00 this year equiping 2 new teams and purchasing new pants and pads for our otherplayers. We knew that it would be pricey, but we wanted to make sure each of our players was decked out in the safest manner possible. Now we can play some football!
We need your help to make sure we can continue to pay for Jaguar Teams to take the field. In addition to equipment costs, we will be paying practice field expenses, game day expenses including paying for NBHS, official expenses, and misc. odds and ends that always come up for football teams (including trophies and the end of the season celebration). We have already paid $1,500.00 in insurance fees covering all of our teams and cheerleaders.
We will have two home games at NBHS, on Sept 13 and Oct 11, where will will be selling concessions to try and make enough money to cover our expenses for this season. We are requesting the following donations from our parents to help maximize our profits on these days:
1. 12 packs of canned soda in any variety
2. packs of 12 oz bottled waters
3. packs of 16 oz Gatorades in any flavor
We will also be requesting individually wrapped baked items that we can sell on those days and will be contacting you about these items later.
Parents on the PW and JPW teams can bring their donations to the trailer by the fields.
Parents on the TM and MM teams can bring their donations to the TM fields where Coach Reno's team practices.
Please, consider donating as many of these items as you can to help our Jaguars!!!!
Thanks as always for your help and support!
Hello - Thanks so much to Kathy Pike who has graciously volunteered to coordinate our concessions for our home games!
Kathy will need everyone's help to make sure that the concession stand is staffed for all available times.
If you are willing to give of your time in this manner, please, contact Kathy at kcjwpike@embarqmail.com to let her know you support the Jaguars! Give her your name, phone number, and your child's name and team so that she can schedule you at a time that won't interfer with your child's game.
Thanks for all your continued help and support! 2008 should be a great season!
With the addition of new Tiny Mite and Mitey Mite teams, our Jaguars will need lots of money to make this season the best year yet.
We are considering some fundraising options. One option is the BRAX Spirit Cup Fundraiser - you can learn about this fundraiser at http://www.spiritcups.com/. Several of the coaches did a test run with this fundraiser this winter and found that the cups sell easily.
We would like your feedback on this and other fundraising opportunities of which you are aware. Also, if fundraising isn't your thing and you'd rather just make a general donation, please, let us know that too.
Thanks for your insight.

Hey Jaguar Parents, Coaches,
Please, go to the following link and take the responsible sports parenting quiz:
www.responsiblesports.com (On the left hand side - scroll down and click on "responsible sports parenting" - then click on "responsible parent quiz")
When you're finished with the quiz (and I have to admit, it took me a couple of tries to get all the right answers!) make sure to list "Craven Jaguars" as your organization so we get credit! I just registered us a few minutes ago, so if it doesn't come up right away, please keep trying!!!
Please, forward this to all your e-mail contacts, have all your kids take the quiz and ask everyone at work to log on and take it and give us credit!
Thanks for your time and effort!
