Craven Jaguar Football/ Cheer
Registration/Certification Information
Please,
submit the following items to register your participant for football or cheer/
dance. With the exception that final
report cards may be turned in any time before the beginning of the season, no
registration is considered complete until all of the components below are on
file. There are a limited number of spots on all teams. Registration is on a first come, first
serve basis, although Jaguar participants from previous seasons will be given
preference until after July 1. Only a complete registration packet will
hold your participant’s spot on a team.
All registration components listed below must be turned in before the
2008 season begins on August 1.

each registration date who will perform physicals for $15.00 each.

* In addition, parents/players must provide the following game/practice equipment:
Black shorts Black football cleats
Tee shirt Water bottle
Mouth Guard
* Please note that all ages are as of July 31st, 2008. There are no exceptions. This is mandated by National Pop Warner and is required by the insurance carrier. The age limits apply to both football and cheerleading. Weight limits are for football only.
Your child will participate in the lowest/youngest division he/she is eligible for. This will give your child the greatest opportunity to be successful, develop self-confidence, get more playing time and develop skills in the safest possible environment.
For instance, if your child is 10 years old on July 31 and weighs 90 pounds, he would be eligible to play football on the Jr. Pee wee or the Peewee divisions. By playing in the Jr. Pee wee he would be competing with other kids his age or younger and about his weight or lower. In Pee wee division he would be up against kids 1-2 years older and up to 20 pounds heavier than he.
When does the season start?
The season starts the first day of August, 2008 and the regular season continues through the first or second week of November. Playoffs, bowl games and the super bowl can extend into December.
What is August conditioning?
During the month of August, the players practice 3-5 days a week, Monday through Friday in the evenings for the entire month. The first week of August is strictly conditioning, with the players not wearing any pads – just shorts, tee-shirts and cleats. This time is used to teach football fundamentals and to get our athletes into shape. After school starts, practices are limited to approximately 6 hours per week.
